Alright alright I know I’m SUPER late on this post. I’ll be honest that I actually forgot to write this up after I got home on Sunday. I had a few things to do right away so I ended up forgetting to even start writing this post.
In my last post, I wrote about Memorial Day Weekend and my family’s drive out to Las Vegas so I want to recount what I did the rest of the trip out in Southern California!
So after Vegas, the week starts on June 1. During the day, I didn’t really do much. Both my parents were working and my brother had summer school so I wasn’t able to go out during the day. Idid order Chipotle for lunch but that is nothing special. That evening, I took my parents to Costco. They’ve never been into one and don’t have a membership. We shopped for a little bit in there and grabbed dinner for my brother. We then drove out and grabbed some milk tea with boba. My parents wanted to by me a new phone so we drove to both the AT&T store and Best Buy. Unlucky for us, the AT&T store didn’t have the phone we were looking for and Best Buy had already closed. With that we just went home.
The next day, I stayed at home during the day. I did order birria tacos from a local taqueria. I’ve never had it before but I always saw it on foodie Youtube videos so I wanted to try it out. When my parents were finally off work, we went to Best Buy right away to buy the new phone and I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy S21+. I originally wanted a smaller phone but having a slightly larger phone is ok. For dinner, I cooked NY strip steaks that we got from Costco for my family.
On Thursday June 3, an old friend I’ve known since middle school picked me and we drove out to Costa Mesa for lunch. We ended up going to a place called Mokkoji, which is a shabu shabu restaurant. After lunch, we walked the food off at Ikea then went to a tea place for milk tea boba and to catch up. After she took me home, I hung out at home for a bit before the family and I went to our usual Filipino restaurant, Salo Salo. We used to have so many family outings to this restaurant. I even had my college graduation celebration here! I ended up ordering a breakfast combo and had halo halo for dessert.
On June 4, my parents and brother were off, so in the afternoon, we went to the MainPlace mall in Santa Ana and mostly hung out in Round 1 playing arcade games. Round 1 is one of my favorite places to hang out so it was nice being in one again. My brother and I got rolled ice cream after playing. After our day at the mall, we went to get poke bowls for dinner at one of my old spots and now where my brother frequents, PokiNometry. I used to go to this place so much and it was the first place I ever had a poke bowl. It was nice to come back here.
Saturday we went to a lot of different places. My parents went to the beach early morning but I was way too tired to go with them. When they came back, they picked me up to go to Irvine Park to walk around a bit. We had some ice cream, talked and walked around the regional park. After we left, we stopped by the cemetery to visit my late aunt. From there, we went to Seafood City. I had Jollibee for lunch while my parents had another dish from another little restaurant. We also shopped in Seafood City for a bit and bought some Filipino snacks for me to bring back home. That evening, we drove out to Temecula for Pechanga Resort. We didn’t really gamble at all but wen specifically for an Asian fusion restaurant at the casino.
Anyways it was a very busy week so I apologize for the late post. After I came home, I had a lot of errands I needed to do so things got busy. I hope you guys enjoy this post and Ill see you next week!
