First, I’m a little late on this post. I’ve had very bad week when it comes to being accountable to a few things and that’s what this week’s topic will be about!
Throughout my life, I’ve always been on a schedule, whether it was through school and work. For the past year, I haven’t been working due to the pandemic so naturally, I have a lot of free time. But I have noticed that over time, I’ve fallen into a spiral of laziness. I don’t normally wake up until 10AM and in some cases, close to noon. I spend most of my days doing nothing, mostly watching TV and sometimes passing out for naps.
At first, it was nice. I had been super stressed at work before the pandemic and I needed to relax but after doing nothing day after day, I’ve definitely felt like I’m not contributing much. Now I have been doing some work for Chicago’s Forge but it’s just random things here and there whenever I have ideas.
So with the suggestion of my husband, I have decided to plan out my day and follow close to it. Based on what I currently have scheduled, I planned out time for breakfast, cleaning, lunch and work for Chicago’s Forge and social media planning for other projects. Depending on weather throughout the week, I also plan to put in time to go on 30 minute walks outside as well.
Why didn’t I do this earlier? Honestly, I’ve felt very unmotivated to be productive. After doing some reflection this week, I hope that making these schedules will force me to be more structurally active, even if it is just doing work around the house.
I apologize that the post is short, but I will be better next week. I’ll even give you guys an update on how I’m doing with my scheduling! But that is it for me, I’ll see you all next Saturday!
