I feel like I should just be posting on Mondays now because of how late I’m always getting these out but I’ll just continue to call out that I’m late! Anyways, this weekend, I am flying out to Southern California to be with my family for a little over a week.
The last time I saw my family was in June of 2019 meaning it’s been about 2 years since I last saw them. I went for my little brother’s high school graduation. I didn’t tell him that I was able to make it so he didn’t expect me to show up. It was a great surprise for him! After his graduation, the family and I drove to Las Vegas for a few days.
There’s no reason for me to fly out. It has just been awhile since we’ve been able to see each other. Originally, my parents planned to fly out my brother to Chicago to hang out over the summer of 2020 but with the pandemic, that obviously couldn’t happen.
Earlier this month, I got my second dose of the vaccine. Now that I got it, I feel comfortable being out in public and definitely more comfortable getting on a plane and traveling. Because my family is also vaccinated, we’ll be driving out to Las Vegas for the first couple days I’m out there. We all might as well do a mini vacation as a celebration for being vaccinated and finally being able to go out!
I’m still a little nervous being on a plane surrounded by a lot of people but I’m sure it’ll be fine. It definitely will be nice to see my parents and little brother again though.
