2021 Games I’m Excited For — Week 24

I watched a bit of the E3 livestreams this past weekend and to be honest, there weren’t a lot of announcements that got me excited. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older and announcements for new games don’t hype me up as much. Or maybe it’s because I’m more selective in the games I want to buy versus paying bills. Or maybe because of the pandemic, I’ m more frugal. OR it could be a combination of everything.

Regardless, there are a few games that will be releasing this year in 2021 that I am excited for and I want to share them with you!

The first is Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Now I played the original a few years ago and loved it. I remember a friend telling me about this game and when I played it, I genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. I even played it multiple times to get all the endings! DDLC Plus will include new side stories so I can’t wait to learn more about the characters.

The next game is The Great Ace Attorney. I am a HUGE fan of the Ace Attorney series. I remember playing through the original trilogy. The story was amazing and I loved all the twists and turns. I played all the main story games and even the Professor Layton crossovers. The only games I didn’t play were the Miles Edgeworth spinoffs. I can’t wait to play another Ace Attorney game as the series is so nostalgic for me.

Next is Far Cry 6. The Far Cry series has always been one of my favorite open world FPS games. I just love how open the worlds have been in past Far Cry games and how there are different ways you can approach combat. I’ve played every Far Cry game since Far Cry 3 and each game has such lively locations. I’m excited to explore and liberate the country of Yara!

The next game I’m excited about is Back 4 Blood. So this game is created by the same developers who worked on Left 4 Dead when they were still with Valve. L4D is probably the most perfect co-op zombie game out there and I remember spending hours with friends and even random people playing the game. Since the same team of L4D is developing Back 4 Blood, it’s definitely worth trying out!

Next, I’m excited for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo Switch. I remember playing this Diamond when it first released and it was the first game I played where there were more things to do with your Pokemon than just battling. There were contests, an underground online area to play with friends, and trading online. I can’t wait to relive this generation of Pokemon.

Last but not least, I cannot wait for Dying Light Stay Human. I played the original Dying Light and loved the night and day aspect of the game. I played the game in single player mode and even played co-op with my husband and it was so fun. Setting up traps and fighting to survive when night falls was one of the best parts. I eager to learn more about the story and do more parkouring around zombies!

Anyways, that’s all the games I’m looking forward to this year. There are other games I can’t wait for but they either weren’t going to be released this year or didn’t have a date yet. I hope you all enjoy this read and I’ll see you all next week!
